Past Projects

Here are some of our past projects:

 Oil Spill Boom Hose Reel

This is a semi-submerged / floating barrier used by the Australian Navy to prevent ecological damage due to oil spills whilst re-fuelling vessels. Existing units were electrically driven and only held 50mtrs of hose necessitating multiple units to be joined together which was a difficult and time consuming task. These units were also limited to areas where power was available. We were asked to design a completely stand alone mobile unit to hold 250 mtrs of hose. These units are powered by a diesel engine and the reel is variable speed being hydraulically driven through a planetary gearbox.

  Aluminium Platform

Due to a safety issue we were asked by the Australian Navy to fabricate a platform to mount a short ships gangway to the deck of the vessel. This eliminated the hazard of personnel having to negotiate a steep incline when carrying provisions, heavy or bulky items on or off the vessel. The platform is fitted with polyurethane rollers to accommodate any movement by the vessel.

  Amphiroll Machine

This unit was developed by and built for Geographe Earthmoving. During construction there were many design changes made in conjunction with ourselves. These units are used by mining companies who use a wet process to recover the mineral resources and then have to dry the residue using tailing dam / mud lake methods. The Amphiroll continually turns over the wet mud allowing the moisture to evaporate at a significently quicker rate ensuring the mined area can be more quickly rehabilitated. Also the size of the residue area can be substantially reduced. These units can be manually driven from the cab or can be operated by remote control.
